Colombia Study
In 2024, Yayasan Peta Bencana began working with universities, government agencies, activists and designers in Colombia to develop a localized deployment of its crowd-sourced disaster mapping platform. The study was initated through meetings with
Director General of SENA, Jorge Eduardo Londoño Ulloa, former Senator of Colombia
. Colombia faces diverse climate challenges, including heavy rainfall, landslides, and flooding, which disproportionately impact vulnerable communities. By integrating real-time, community-generated reports with official emergency response efforts, the platform aims to enhance disaster preparedness and response across the country.
